SystmOnline Security

We are serious about security

Your security is very important to us. We take a number of measures to help safeguard you while you are using SystmOnline services. This page explains how to find out whether you are connected to SystmOnline securely. You can then have confidence that you are using the real and legal site and all your communication with it is safe from others.

This site uses a security certificate issued by a trusted authority. This is a way to prove the site is genuine and to tell your browser to use strong encryption for every page you view. You will see the same technology used by online banks and shops.

Please check the certificate and familiarise yourself with how it looks in your browser. Whenever you use the site, check to make sure the certificate is still there. If it is not, do not use the site and report the problem to the practice, who will raise it with SystmOnline.

We have provided external links below to instructions for all the major browsers on how to view the security certificate. Click the link to open the instructions in a new window.

About SystmOnline

If you wish to, you can now use the internet to request repeat prescriptions for any medications you take regularly and look at your medical record online. You may be able book an appointment if you have been asked by us to do so, but this service is currently extremely limited. You can also still use the telephone or call in to the surgery for any of these services as well.

Being able to see your record online might help you to manage your medical conditions. It also means that you can access it from anywhere in the world should you require medical treatment on holiday.

The service is open 24/7/365 and can be accessed from your home PC, tablet or mobile phone.

How to register for SystmOnline

SystmOnline is a great online service which allows you to book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your medical records and send secure messages to the practice. Please note that the online appointment booking service is extremely limited as a result of the changes we have had to implement due to covid. The service is open 24/7/365 and can be accessed from your home PC, tablet or mobile phone.

Register at the surgery in person

Our online service is available for patients aged 16 and over.

All you need is a unique username and password.

To get these, simply call in to our reception where our staff will be happy to provide them for you. You will need to provide the reception staff with  proof of identity and of current address. PLEASE NOTE: these should be two separate documents, for example we cannot accept a driving licence as both photographic ID and proof of address.

Acceptable documents can be:

  • photo ID: passport or photo driving licence
  • proof of address: bank or other financial statements, but not bills

Once you have your user ID and password, simply log-on via our website or by clicking here.  You will be asked to change your password to something more memorable for you.

You are then registered and will be able to use our service online, making future repeat prescriptions or appointments much easier and more convenient.

Registering with approved SystmOnline apps

When you collect your username and password you will also be issued with an account ID and passphrase. These, along with your username and password can be used to register for our approved online apps.
